Boxer football is ready to show-off for fans at the Homecoming game
Noah Norain, a junior defensive back for the football team, is familiar with what a Pacific University Homecoming means to the community. “Its one of the biggest events that happen every year, alumni come from all over and show the players a lot of love and appreciation for the program,” Norain commented, going on to add, “It’s always great to see all the players families come and support us for the game, I get to meet some of my teammates parents and interact with them.”
Other players like Jimmy Green are just excited to get on the field and watch the team perform. “This is one of our most hyped up games on our schedule, it’s a good rematch and both teams have gotten better since we played them the first time in week two,” Green explained. He continues on to talk about the trajectory of the team and the deeper meaning of what a win would mean for the team. “We are a very talented team just going through some struggles at the moment; winning this game will get us back on the win column and hopefully that will build some momentum for us to finish the season strong,” Green said.
As the boxers football team crosses the midseason threshold their next opponent is a familiar foe. This will be the second time the Boxers will match up against the Willamette Bearcats, as they faced off against each other earlier this season. In their first game, the Boxers dominated and won 42-0. This time, the game will have the excitement and hype of the Homecoming atmosphere to back up the Boxers.
Pacific University Boxers take on the Willamette Bearcats Saturday, Oct. 25th at 1 pm on Boxer turf.
