Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley participated in a panel discussion, “Life in Our Recession,” in Taylor Meade auditorium Nov. 13.

The panel was comprised of Executive Director of Community Action Jerralyn Ness, President and CEO of Tuality Healthcare Dick Stenson, Pacific’s Director of Diversity Alfonso Lopez-Vasquez, Chair of the Washington County Human Rights Council Emily Gottfried and Interfaith Committee on Homelessness of Washington County Russ Dondero. It was put together by Pacific’s Director of the McCall Center Jim Moore.

Merkley said, “There is a lot of too little before us right now; in the pantry, in retirement, in home equity and in jobs.” He stressed that America is no longer family-oriented and that he is working on changing that.
