As Spring transitions into summer, students may be wondering what local employment and internship opportunities are available on campus.

Melissa Vieira, Internship Coordinator at the Development Center, offers helpful advice for students seeking summer employment.

“Getting a job is much about being in the right place at the right time with a well prepared resume,” Vieira explained.

She encourages students to be proactive in their job quest by going to regularly visited areas and asking about job opportunities.

Vieira welcomes all students to the Career Development Center for help with creating their resumes.

The Career Development Center also offers a valuable tool for students seeking summer employment. At CareerCenterJobs.org Pacific students can find listings for summer employment opportunities. Currently posted jobs range from employers seeking camp counselors to sales associates.

Students looking for a summer internship experience should consider the new College of Arts and Sciences Summer Internship Program.

The program is an opportunity for students to meet internship requirements for majors and minors and gain important experience during the summer.

Students can apply for the program through the Career Development Center and completing an Internship Learning Contract.

The deadline for applying to this summer’s program is Tuesday, May 14. Students applying should plan to be returning to Pacific in the fall semester, have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.70, and a minimum of 26 Pacific credits.

For more details students should contact Melissa Vieira in the Career Development Center.
