As the 2025-26 basketball season winds down, the Pacific Boxers are continuing their exciting moments, personal growth, and competitiveness. The Boxers have shown an extreme amount of grit throughout the season that reflects the team’s commitment.

This season has featured many standout performances. One of the most thrilling games came in January when Pacific faced Whitworth in a conference matchup. Down nine points with only a minute and 40 seconds left, the Boxers achieved a thrilling comeback to secure the win. The victory highlighted the team’s resilience and teamwork under pressure. Head Coach Justin Lunt praised the team saying, “You want to be playing your best basketball at the end of January and February, and that’s what we’re starting to do.”

Earlier in the conference, the Boxers crushed the Linfield Wildcats, winning 75‑50 in their Northwest Conference opener. Junior Max Vacco proved himself by contributing 14 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 6 steals.

Junior Anthony Hrboka has also had several standout games, including an average of 22 points in competitive conference games. His consistency shows why he’s one of the team’s outstanding players.

Beyond players like Vacco and Hrboka, other players have also stood out this season. Senior Lucas Gray has provided key rebounds, steals, and quick scoring, while Junior Ryder Mackay and Senior Brody Baumgartner have added leadership that keeps the team competitive. Their roles have highlighted the Boxers’ culture of teamwork and has been a major factor in the team’s ability to stay competitive in the Northwest Conference.

The secret to success? Coach Justin Lunt focused on growth and development throughout the season. “It’s been a growing process for our guys, just working hard and grinding every day. Our six conference losses were by a total of 19 points, that’s 3.2 a game,” Lunt noted before delving into how important everyone’s role is on the team. “Everyone on this team has a role, and everyone adds value to our success. We’ve built a close knit group that’s driven by leadership from within. We’re an ultimate team, guys embrace their roles and do it to the best of their ability.”

The Boxers have grown closer as a team this season, and it shows on the court. Through the way they play it’s quite obvious that there’s trust and communication. Not only are players dedicated to practice and conditioning, but they have a strong team culture. This makes for motivating and entertaining games for players and their fans.

With the experience gained and lessons learned this season, the Boxers are positioned to find bigger success next year. The Boxers faced tough competition this season, leaving the Pacific community ready and eager for next season. Although the Boxers will be losing six seniors, the returning roster gives them the depth and talent needed to continue their success next season.
