Boxers finish fourth at NWC Championships: Season of growth and young talent
By Vivian McCullough
The Boxers wrap up their 2025-26 Golf season on their home course, Pumpkin Ridge Golf. The two day Northwest Conference Championships tournament challenged the golfers, but they didn’t give up without a fight. They finished fourth overall in the tournament. The athletes are more than proud to end their season with standout performances.
Leading the way for the Pacific women’s team was junior Bead Boonta. Throughout the season she delivered a strong performance where she placed fourth individually. She opened the tournament with a 78 and followed it up with a 77, staying consistent throughout both days, with a final score of 155. Her consistency earned her First Team All NWC honors, which recognized her as one of the top golfers in the conference.
There were also major contributions throughout both days from junior Kayla Speer, who shot a 170, along with freshman Faith Sampson (172) and freshman Mielle Kavran (175). As the women’s team rounds out their season, they posted a final score of 671, which secured them fourth place overall.
On the men’s team, junior Ryan Murray led the way for the Boxer men, shooting a 143 to finish in a tie for fifth overall. His performance throughout the season earned him Third Team All NWC honors.
The freshmen trio of Ray Blas (153), Alex Lustig (154), and Jonathan Nolasco (157) gained valuable experience competing in their first NWC Championships.
Closing out the season on their home course made the finish even more memorable. Over the course of the year, the team showed off a wave of emerging young talent and growth. With that momentum building, Boxer golf is a team to watch heading into what promises to be an exciting season ahead.
