Over the summer, I watched the Netflix series The Good Place. Directed by Michael Schur — who has developed a number of other great sitcoms like, The Office, Parks and Rec, and Brooklyn 99 — I knew that there would be a lot of subtle, satire, and sarcastic humour throughout the storyline. I always enjoy the love interests, character development, and plot twists that catch people off guard in Schur’s sitcoms’ plotlines.
Pacific University’s Music Therapy Department is hosting a charity event titled Piano Smash: Fundraiser for Music Therapy Program on December 8, from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm. The event will take place on the Taylor Meade Loading Dock.

In honor of Indigenous People’s month, Pacific University archivist Eva Guggemos and independent researcher SuAnn Reddick published a list of all the known Indigenous children who died in the custody of the Forest Grove Indian School and Chemawa Indian School from 1880 to 1945.
Transgender Week of Visibility culminated in the Trans Day of Remembrance on November 20, nationally and on Pacific’s campus a day to honor and mourn transgender individuals whose lives were ended because of their identities.
The Pacific University Men’s and Women’s cross country teams both ran at the NW Conference Championships last Saturday, October 30th in Mcminnville. The women’s team placed second overall and the men’s team finished fourth overall, which is the highest combined team finish at the NW Conference Championships in school history.
Bailee Cofer and Ryan Simms have been able to be found on the Pacific University track all year round for the past five years coaching their athletes how to throw/jump farther and run faster. The only thing different about both coaches this year is a change in their titles.
After competing in a modified soccer season that allowed ten soccer games to be held with no spectators, I came to a conclusion: sporting events are just not the same without the roar of the crowd.

After spending Halloween in quarantine last year, students have returned to their usual Halloween festivities, on and off campus. This year, there were many ways for students to celebrate Halloween over the week of the holiday. Several events were put on by campus organizations.
