The best pie, undoubtedly, is a classic apple pie. Warm or cold, plain or with ice cream, there’s never a bad season or time of day to enjoy apple pie. I think some of my favorite memories enjoying apple pie are during Thanksgiving with my family; my late grandpa made a killer pie that was always a fan favorite in the household.

My favorite pie would have to be a huckleberry pie from my favorite local shop in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Birdie’s Pie Shop. Our family usually orders pies every holiday and my favorite is getting the mini personal pies because they are adorable and delicious.

I haven’t really had too many pies but I really do like pumpkin pie with whipped cream on top. I use quite a bit of whipped cream as well. It is a very basic pie to like but it is also a tradition that every major holiday, my dad gets the premade pies and toast it in the oven for a bit and it tastes amazing.

My favorite kind of pie is probably pumpkin pie, because I have a lot of memories of making that with my grandma. Every Thanksgiving she would pull out the same recipe and we’d make a huge mess in the kitchen, but it was something fun we’d always do together, and the pies were delicious.

My favorite pie is sweet potato pie from my mom because every single time it’s made it doesn’t last a week in the house and if you’re lucky enough to get a slice you’re in good shape.

My son Sawyer and I celebrate “Pie-Giving” in November, and I’m hoping it will catch on. As many pies at dinnertime as possible: This can mean pizza-pie and chicken pot pie, but mainly we stick with the basics, pumpkin pie and pecan pie. When we want something more “exotic” (read: difficult to prepare), we head down to a pie shop near our house in Portland, and grab slices of key lime pie or lemon meringue. Yeah, pies are big at our house. It’s hard not to be happy when you’re eating pie.

The best kind of pie is any fruit pie. This isn’t even an opinion, it’s just fact. Anyone saying anything else is completely insane, because this isn’t even a debate. I’m not saying the other types are bad, but let’s be honest with ourselves about who the undisputed goat is. There are many good options for fruit pies, but my personal favorite is peach.
