The Pacific University Softball team recently gained a new head coach since the search began in early August. After a challenging six weeks of interviewing and background checks of many candidates, Katie Duroe will be the new head coach.
Pacific University Women’s Volleyball team has had their fair share of ups and downs this season; winning clutch games, but also coming up short in close competitions. A chance of redemption is possible for the team with the second round of conference play starting up. The Boxers plan to look past their bumpy start to the season and get back in the win column.

As a group, the women’s soccer team made a decision to travel to Dallas, Texas to play two matches during such a controversial time. This Texas trip to play has been planned for the last year and a half, with COVID being the primary reason it kept getting postponed. While preparing for this trip and the season, the state passed the Texas Heartbeat Act.
2020 was a year full of hardships for everybody, but it was especially difficult for senior athletes who had lost their last year of college sports to the pandemic. Then, in October of 2020, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) granted an extra year of eligibility for all fall, winter, and spring sport athletes in the Division III category to make up for their lost year.
This fall was different. There were no games . There were barely any practices. COVID-19 destroyed the optimism of fall athletes one restriction at a time.
Due to COVID-19, Pacific athletic facilities have officially been shut down for the remainder of the semester.
In a semester with no sports, Boxer Athletics had their first win of the year in Boxer Giving Day.
With high hopes, Ryan Hunter-Simms, from Highland, California is onto his 4th year as the assistant track and field coach and continues to push his athletes towards their ever-expanding goals.
