Campus Public Safety: Incident Reports Oct. 27 Issue

10/9/2011 between 7 p.m. and 6:20 a.m. Theft I
Student reported theft of their bicycle from the bike rack at Walter Hall.  Bike was secured with a cable lock, which had been cut. No suspect identified. No identifying information available for the bike.

10/11/2011 10:35 p.m. Medical Report FG
Report of a student who injured her ankle in the dance studio. Medical treatment was declined. Student able to walk with assistance. Injury report filed.

10/13/2011 1:10 a.m. Suspicious Person(s)
Student reported being approached, at night, in a campus parking lot by an unknown male. Student stated she was alone and felt uncomfortable and endangered. Student ran to her residence hall and called Campus Public Safety. Forest Grove Police and CPS patrolled the campus and surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspicious male.

10/13/2011 12:43 p.m. Theft III
ARAMARK staff reported theft of food by a student from Real Food on Campus. Student had been observed three days in a row taking food without paying. Student was detained by ARAMARK and contacted by CPS.  Student admitted to taking food without paying. Referred to conduct adviser.

10/14/2011 12:25 p.m. Theft III
Campus visitor was in Pacific University Library at workstation and left her bag and wallet unattended on a desk. When she got back to the desk the bag was gone. CPS was called and after a search of library the bag was found on third floor. All items in bag were accounted for except $100 in cash. Report filed and referred to FGPD.

10/14/11 8 a.m. Medical Report
Staff member twisted her ankle on the cobble path in front of Marsh Hall, which caused her to fall. EMS was not called. Staff member assisted to her office by passing student. Employee accident report filed.

10/14/2011 10:13 p.m. Alcohol
Resident Assistant reported underage students in possession of alcohol in a residence hall room. Officers and RA found eight students in a room where alcohol was present. All but one of the students was under age. Officers documented the open containers of alcohol in the room and then destroyed the contents.  Students referred to conduct adviser.

10/14/2011 10:46 p.m. Drugs
Resident Assistant reported that two male students were smoking what appeared to be marijuana near the entrance to a residence hall. Officers found students in possession of a partially-smoked marijuana cigarette near the residence hall entrance. Both suspects admitted to having smoked the marijuana cigarette.  Marijuana was seized and students referred to conduct adviser.

10/18/2011 1:56 p.m. Medical Report
Report of an unconscious student at the Stoller Center after falling and striking his head. CPS assisted Fire and EMS who responded and transported student to Tuality Hospital for treatment.

10/19/2011 6:25 a.m. Medical Report
Residence Hall student reported a trauma related injury to CPS. Student called 911 and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

10/19/2011 10:40 a.m. Theft III
ARAMARK staff reported student leaving RFoC without paying for their meal. Student was contacted and admitted to stealing food from RFoC. Referred to conduct adviser.

10/11/2011 between 11:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Theft III
Student came into the CPS office to report that some items had been stolen out of his vehicle that was parked in K-Lot. A t-shirt and knife were left in vehicle by thief and put in to evidence. No suspect identified at this time.

10/20/11 between 5 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. Theft III
Student playing racquetball in Stoller Center left backpack unattended in the hallway. Returned to find wallet and other personal items missing from the backpack. No suspects identified.

10/23/2011 between 11:45 p.m. and 12:18 a.m. Drugs
Resident Assistant reported to CPS of an odor of marijuana. CPS officers made contact with room occupants who admitted smoking marijuana and consuming alcohol in the residence hall.  Students referred to conduct adviser.

10/21/11 1:30 p.m. Medical Report
Report of an injury to a player during intramural flag football game. Player struck by a knee in the face and suffered a possible broken nose. Player taken by private vehicle to Tuality urgent care. Determined to be a non-student player.

The Pacific Index will be publishing all incident reports that are received from Campus Public Safety in order to inform the Pacific community.

According to the Cleary Act of 1990, all institutions receiving financial aid must keep a public log of crime on campus.
