Campus safety: Incident reports 2/2 – 3/11

02/02/2012 Noon Criminal Mischief III

On patrol, CPS found graffiti on the ticket stand wall of the softball stadium in Lincoln Park. No suspects at this time.

03/04/12 12:50 a.m. Alcohol

Officers contacted intoxicated student who stumbled out of a room into a Walter hallway. Student and two non-student guests found in possession of alcohol. Student referred to conduct committee. Guests issued trespass notices and escorted off campus.

3/4/2012 10:40 p.m. Drugs

CPS on routine patrol check of parking lot detected burnt marijuana coming from parked vehicle. Four occupants were contacted and marijuana seized. Students referred to conduct committee.

3/4/2012 4:45 a.m. Criminal Mischief III

CPS officer found graffiti on interior of restroom door. Scratches of words and shapes etched by tool into the paint on the door. Work order submitted for clean up. No suspects at this time.

3/5/2012 8:45 p.m. Medical Report

CPS received call from student requesting an escort to residence hall. Student sustained ankle injury while participating in intramural game. Student denied medical assistance. Student escorted to residence hall and given ice for ankle.

3/4-3/5/12 Property Damage

CPS was notified of a damaged fire lane barrier next to the softball stadium at Lincoln Park. The welds that attached the top exterior pole to the lower portion were broken. Unknown how it occurred. No suspects identified.

03/03/2012 Midnight-Noon Criminal Mischief III

A student reported that his vehicle had received damage overnight while parked in a university parking lot. No suspects identified.

03/03/2012 9:45 a.m. Lost or Stolen Property

Staff member reported the loss/theft of university key ring, containing multiple keys to various facilities. No suspects identified.

03/07/2012 5:15 p.m. Criminal Trespass II

CPS received multiple reports of a suspicious male attempting to gain access to residential halls. Male located in the athletic center sleeping. Police assisted in trespassing the male from university property. The male was released by police without incident.

03/08/2012 11:55 p.m. Assault IV, Criminal

CPS observed a suspicious non-student male dressed in all dark clothing near the Stoller Center. When officers attempted to contact the suspect he ran. Suspect fell near Burlingham Hall and was contacted by officers. During the contact suspect attacked one of the officers and had to be restrained. FGPD were called and the suspect was issued trespass notice.

Date & Time Unknown Theft of Services

Custodial staff reported someone driving up to and depositing trash in a university dumpster. Name and address were located in one of the bags, showing the suspect to not be a university resident. Report filed with FGPD for theft of services.

03/10/2012 8 p.m. Burglary I

CPS received a report of burglary of a room and theft of items. Officers responded and found that a burglary had occurred to the unlocked room and items from all three room occupants were stolen. FGPD were called and filed a report. Investigation by CPS and FGPD identified two non-student suspects who were later arrested and jailed.

03/11/12 12:33 a.m. Drugs

RA reported smell of marijuana in Walter Hall. Student was contacted and marijuana was seized. Student referred to conduct committee.

3/11/2012 9:51 p.m. Drugs, Alcohol

CPS received a call regarding an odor of marijuana inside Burlingham Hall. Officers made contact with students where a grinder containing marijuana and other drug paraphernalia seized. Students were referred to the conduct review adviser.

According to the Cleary Act of 1990, all institutions receiving financial aid must keep a public log of crime on campus.
