Pacific welcomes many new faculty, staff

The College of Arts and Sciences has welcomed 22 new members to the faculty and staff for the 2016-17 academic year.

Some of the school’s new faculty are: Jenelle Andrews, assistant professor of exercise science, Michael Holmes, assistant professor of chemistry, Kurt Inglemen, assistant biology professor, Andrew Pingree, Rebecca Schoon public health instructor, Lang Schwartzwald,  English instructor, Lara Vesta, and Monica Vilhauer, assistant professor of philosophy.

Five of the college’s faculty additions are on track for tenure. Such additions include Julie Layshock, assistant professor of chemistry, assistant art professor, Tally Locke, social work assistant professor, A. Del Quest, and assistant English professor, Elizabeth Tavares.

The school’s new staff members are Paige Cloke, a coordinator in the Career Development Center, Becca Ellenbecker, the new administrative assistant in the School of Arts and Humanities, biology lab coordinator, Miranda Karson, administrative assistant, Suzy Kropf, who works at the Eugene campus’ Master of Social Work Program, Michelle Pliske, Interim Bachelor of Social Work Program Director, and chemistry lab coordinator, Eric Phillips

Four of the faculty additions will be at Pacific for just this one academic year.  Renee Crowgy joins Pacific as a psychology professor for the year along with physics Professor Todd Duncan, assistant professor of criminal justice, Taryn VanderPyl, and assistant professor of physics, Micheal Solontoi.

As always, the new year brings with it new faces, not only to the student body but to the team which serves those students.
