NWCCU Peer Evaluators will visit Pacific University

Pacific University will be visited by three Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) appointed peer evaluators on April 6 for a follow-up visit as a part of the school’s seven-year reaccreditation cycle.

According to Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Sarah Phillips, accreditors have had questions about financial aid counseling and services for graduate students on different campuses in the past.

“In the College of Arts and Sciences, it was mostly about looking at how we describe our Student Learning Outcomes in our programs and how we measure our students are in fact learning what we say they’re learning,” Phillips said. “Part of this all is the new core, because the new core was structured and built around Student Learning Outcomes.”

There will be an open forum for faculty and undergraduate students on the Forest Grove campus on April 6 with two NWCCU evaluators in the Multipurpose Room of the University Center.

The faculty open forum starts at 11:00 a.m. and the undergraduate student open forum starts at 12:00 p.m.

An open forum for graduate students will be held on the Hillsboro campus on April 6, starting at 11:50 a.m. in the Intermodal Transit Facility.
