Feeling the gray sky blues? Is the recognition that summer is now officially over too much to bare? Or maybe that stressful test or homework overload has finally sent you over the edge. If so, the staff at the Student Health Center has the perfect room for you.
The Oasis Room has been available on campus for the past two years and provides students with a soothing environment to melt away stress. Equipped with a light therapy box, soothing music and a massage chair, the room is open to anyone who needs a little relaxation.
“Robin Keillor, along with the health center staff realized that sometimes students need more than just a counseling resource. Stress is a concern to us both physically and mentally. Students experience a stressful environment while in college and bring issues with them to campus,” said Staff Psychologist Jeff Guardalabene. The Oasis Room is the perfect environment for anyone needing a quiet and peaceful place to unwind.
Call the health center at 503-352-2191 to make a 45-minute appointment for the Oasis Room. Appointments don’t need to be days in advance. Simply call to check if the room is available at a certain time. The room is available during the week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at no cost.
