It’s that time again when the beginning of the school year rolls around; when both returning and new students are getting settled in. While books, classes and roommates might be on the mind, Pacific University’s GO WILD! Block Party will put minds at ease with games, prizes, music and more.

Sept. 2 at 4 p.m. Outdoor Pursuits will host Pacific’s annual GO WILD! Block Party at the intersection of 21st Avenue and College Way in collaboration with several places including the Adelante Mujeres Forest Grove Farmer’s Market, Aramark Dining Services and Student Senate.

“We want students to get comfortable and take an opportunity to explore what the Farmer’s Market and Outdoor Pursuits has to offer,” Tailor Dolgin, summer events coordinator for Outdoor Pursuits said. “It’s a way for us as a program to reach out to Pacific students and welcome everyone back to school in a fun and engaging way.”

At the event students and community members will be able to participate in outdoor activities such as climb the rock wall, listen to live music by FireWater Mountain Band and enter a raffle to win prizes. Companies such as Next Adventure, prAna and Adventures Without Limits will be present.

Food will also be available on Marsh West Lawn and will be free to students with their student ID cards.

“Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing the whole thing come together,” Dolgin said, who is particularly excited about the raffle. “I have put a lot of work into trying to up involvement this year and I can’t wait to see what it turns into.”
