Thomas Adamson, a Pacific University senior majoring in Environmental Studies: Politics, Culture & Society, will soon be presenting his senior project titled, “Where Do We Go From Here?”

The project is about constructing climate change as a Political Action issue in Mainstream Media, Adamson said. Through his research, Adamson attempts to answer the question, “Is the media equipped to cover global climate change in a manner that is constructive to social awareness of the problem and generating policy solutions?”

“The media’s narrative-based focus does not generally communicate climate change in a way that helps generate social awareness or advance policy solutions,” Adamson said.

The goal of Adamson’s project is to find effective ways to for media to portray the issue of climate change in a way that will have a greater impact on people.

Adamson will present his project on Apr. 5, 2018 at 4:30 pm, in McGill Auditorium.
