Homecoming brings weekend deals for PacU students

posted in: Student Life | 0

Pacific University’s homecoming weekend provides many activities for returning alumni and newbie Boxers alike. Along with various campus events, restaurants close to campus are generously offering alumni and current student discounts over the weekend. Among these establishments are Kama’āina Comfort Foods, Miget’s Island Grill, Ridgewalker Brewing Company, and SaWa Sushi & Saké.

Ridgewalker Brewing Company has welcomed students into its restaurant and taproom since opening in 2016. Co-Manager and Event Coordinator Jeff Farrer wants the eatery to be a place where students can enjoy themselves and get away from homework.

“Our eatery has tried to create a niche for students, providing a fun yet relaxed place for them to come and get good food,” said Farrer. “We wanted to extend the discount offer to returning alumni to welcome them back to their college town.”

Much like Ridgewalker, many of these restaurants aim to create an environment for students to separate themselves from the stress university curriculum often entails. Additionally, by providing student discounts, these establishments hope to promote dining locally and embrace students in the Forest Grove community.

Not all restaurants listed below provide discounts year-round, so owners encourage Boxers to take advantage of them during homecoming weekend excitement. Simply bring a student ID or other forms of proof of enrollment to purchase a treat for an impressive deal.

Participating restaurants and discounts include:
