Rush week begins soon

Pacific’s fraternities and sororities are hosting Fall Rush Sept. 17 through 24. Students who are considering pledging, or are curious about Greek Life can learn about each group during Rush.

The first week of Rush is intended to help students decide if joining the Greek system at Pacific is right for them. The second week is intended to help them find the specific fraternity or sorority that fits. There is no requirement for students to join a Greek group after Rush. Students can attend Greek events to socialize and meet current Greek brothers and sisters.

“People should go Greek because it’s a great way to network, broaden your horizons and most of all have a home away from home,” said Pacific University Greek Senate Vice President of Recruitment Amber Reid.

The possibilities so far include an ice cream social 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 17 in the quad, a field day on Sept. 18, skate night Sept. 20 at Skate World in Hillsboro, mural painting Sept. 21 and sorority and fraternity night on Sept. 24. Lastly, Greek orientation will be held Sept. 26 and 27.

Tickets for skate night will be available starting Monday, Sept. 17 at the PIC in the U.C, for $1. The ticket includes transportation and skates for the night.
